I had people coming for an interview and making the most outrageous statements just to avoid to get hired while they could fill out they applied for a job...just o maintain their benefits...

Sad that, not the tattooing though I'm not personally into it, but that anyone would judge someone else by the color of their tattoo.

I don't think it is sad, just a normal thing for certain jobs in certain stores or businesses. If some one is going to work in a tattoo parlor than it would be strange if that person doesn't have a tattoo. In some businesses it doesn't matter if they have them or not. I wouldn't like it when I get served in a restaurant a person has tattoos in their face, just for me personal and it wouldn't fit the places I choose to have lunch or dinner.
On top of that what I really want to say is that by chosing tattoos and piercing in very obvious places a person can eliminate a lot of jobs. That is their choice and don't blame the business owner for that.

Would the elimination of facebook create 7,000,000 replacement jobs?

Nope it won't but it eliminate the most outrageous people who post very crazy things on these websites, for others who use them in a more decent way it won't harm them to use these websites.

I know people who got layed of and had a new job soon after, not all of them got the same salary but they wanted to be in a job and not playing the waiting game and being a snob ust because now they had to cut back on things. Other friends of mine had their pay check cut a couple of time, also hours cut but they are willing to stay at their job in the hope the economy will get back to what it was and better having less money than no money!

I did not attack you at all. I simply showed why your statement that

is not true during extraordinary times when 7,000,000 jobs have been lost to the economy, unless, of course, you want to argue that all of those 7,000,000 people are too lazy to look for work which does not exist.

I did not say that someone who wants a job more than someone else will not have a better chance of getting a job. Simply that there are not enough jobs to go around. That is a mathematical fact and no amount of attitude is going to change that fact.

So you might complain about someone being lazy about getting a job, but if everyone was not lazy, still, in Tampa, 5 out of 6 people going after each job would still go home without one. That one person who happens to land a job today, well, s/he ought to thank their lucky stars for lazy people.

You probably never heard of people who at all odds against them and made it, just because they were determend not to sit still and do nothing, but to go out and try to proof all people they were wrong, and they did.

Som people won't get a job based upon their appearance. If you have tattoos all over your neck, face and hands and you try to get a job in retail you might not be hired. Same counts for piercings in places that can be seen. Lately more and more people have them just because it is fashion and don't realize that it can and will hurt their chances fo a good job. This isn't called discrimination just what a business owner would like to have the appearance of their store or business.

Other won't get a job due to alcohol, drug, medication misuse and blame others for not being able to make money.

Than we have all the internet sites, like facebook, my space, etc. which are used by most people in a normal way, but we also see behavior of people which can and will hurt their chances of ever getting a decent job.

Just the other day I was checking out a person who was proud to post to post his mugshot on there, guess what...do you think I would hire a person like that? Anotherone who filled out an application for a rental with me had many pictures on the internet showing off his gun in his living room in front of kids and having all kind of party pictures on the website...thanks but not a the tenant I would like to rent to, and since we have the right to chose the best candidate if you have more than one (no discrimination), it is a great tool.

People should realize that sitting at home and feeling sorry for them self isn't getting them a job. If you have tattoos and piercings in your face or places that can be seen, that might hurt your chances while at the same time it can create chances if you try to get a job in a place that the person fits in perfectly.

I don't believe that a healthy person can't find a job any where without there being a good reason why they can't...mostly it is because they are too lazy.

Of course we don't need a Walgreens, CVS, etc. on every corner, just as we don't need a nail salon, chinese take out, etc. in every strip mall. But they are there and in a free market the best stores will survive and others will close their doors. Do we need the government to tell us how many of which we need and can have. NO WAY!

If you want that go and live in Cuba, Venuzuela, etc...and let us have the right to succeed or to fail!
Damn, I'm glad to know that everyone who doesn't have a job falls into these categories.

Like which ones? And I don't mean that as a smart*** comment. Seriously, I don't see any stores hiring right now, and as a poor college student, I would take basically anything.

Last time when I went to Moviestop in Brandon they were hiring, and on the same day 3 other stores were hiring, but I'm not sure which ones they were...sorry. But I remember that we spoke about it in the car as something that was a positive sign and it wasn't during the Holiday season since we all know that they will temporary hire people during the Dec. month.

And those are the places that not only will the highly educated apply to for a second job (which, in this economy, is EXTREMELY greedy. If you have one job, save these jobs for someone with none) and first jobs and everything else as well. The competition is EXTREMELY fierce for a job along those lines. I mean, if you have tattoos, you surely wont get it (it'll have NOTHING to do with the competition of course!)
