Hi,
My daughter is buying a FSBO in Tampa (Davis Island). Any recommendations on a home inspector. Thanks in advance for your help.

Chris Miller of Suncoast Inspections. Check him out on his web site. I was very impressed with his services. He has all the tools and experience.

If you need another recommendation. This guy is doing our home inspection. He responded to our 8PM Sunday night quote from his web site at 9PM that night. He's a great guy, very professional, good manners, follows up, answered all our questions and we feel very comfortable working with him.

IMO, the very best inspectors I've worked with all have a general contractor's license and are a member of ASHI and NACHI at a minimum (google/bing for websites and followup research). Re-location buyers should also know that home inspectors are not licensed or regulated by the State of Florida. So basically, anyone may get an Occupational License and call themselves an inspector. Just be careful out there; I've seen some real doozys.

For the franchises such as HomeTeam, Pillar to Post, First American and others, the parent company has a set of standards, guidelines, and procedures the inspectors must follow, so they're okay, too.
