I bought a book on Florida amphibians eons ago. From the pic, it looks like a Florida Green Water Snake, often mistaken for a Water Moccasin and Cottonmouth. Likes to bask in vegetation over water and can be seen in weedy marshes and grasses around ponds and along canals. Feeds mainly on minnows and small fish. The snake often bites aggressively when first handled, and it also emits a nasty-smelling musk. However, it ususally becomes docile in captivity. There are many different species of water snakes that it could be since water snakes change colors during life stages (age).

I was wondering if these cold snaps we have in the weather would kill off any of these non-indigenous snakes, or other species like monotor lizards?

The cold will slow them down, thus killing them off. they need the heat.

Exclamation ruh -roh!

Yup Defiantly a constrictor killer.... Don't worry about owning any small animals, You won't have them for long. But to save ur pets there are quite a few of reptile collectors, that will catch/take the snake off your hands.
