After all the time, money and effort expended on standardized testing, the only valid conclusion that can be drawn is that each school performs as well as the demographic it serves.
Of course, anyone who paid the least bit of attention to the schools knew this
before all that time, money and effort was misdirected into testing.
The "upside" is that a number of private companies made millions on selling the states standardized testing and I'm sure these companies made the appropriate contributions to the responsible political decisionmakers. But then, the money made by those companies was taken straight out of each state's education budget, leaving less to be spent on schools, repairs, safer buses, new textbooks, instructional staff, cafeterias, athletic facilities, or lab equipment.
