I live in MN (suburbs of Minneapolis) and have a landscape business here, and as soon as I get my business here to near perpetual, I would like to move down to the south (possibly mid TN) and get another business (landscape) going down there as well. Are there any good small towns 10-15 miles from the more populated suburbs? I would like to live in the country as, (even though I live in the suburbs (that's where I grew up, I'm only 19 btw) I would want a property with acreage so I could run my business out of it and also be able to have a couple motocross tracks as well) I have some great friends that live in the country up here that are very close to the more populated suburbs (5 miles or less) and that seems ideal, they own businesses within the same industry and keeping equipment at your own house/property is much easier than getting a commercial shop.
