As a mom of 4 boys I have lived through some pretty hilarious experiences with them that were very embarrassing at the time, but I think you can both share the "embarrass your parents'" award!
A few years ago I had new neighbors. One day the young mother of about a six-year boy came over while I was out sitting on the deck. She asked if I would mind if she put a little wading pool on the corner of my property since their back yard was so so sloping. I told her it would be perfectly fine and even helped her move the pool to a good spot. She begin to fill up the pool and we were just introducing ourselves since she was new to the neighborhood. The boy said he was going to go get ready and his mom said okay. The mother and I was still talking when the little boy came out a few minutes later to get into the pool . . . wearing absolutely nothing. He thought the wading pool was like the bath tub. Clothing wasn't needed.

I thought it was funny. The mother was a little embarassed.

That is such a cute story, alleycat, and oh so typical of little boys! What fun. Now, I am able to sit back and watch my #2 son, who was the most notorious youngster in our neighborhood, suffer the same humiliations with his 2 year old son. And, the fun has just begun! I love it.

Unfortunately, their adventures will be on the shortcuts and backroads of Texas. I'll have to find a few to share with my grandson when he visits us in the Smokies.

Thanks for the save, mbmouse. Boys will be boys.

Back to the great shortcuts.

What is the best shortcut missing tourist traffic to reach Sevierville on a Fall weekend?

Thank you, Tinman, we'll try that route. It will be nice if some of the leaves are just the way we have ordered them.

Default great site

Thank-you. In previous posts the book Touring the East Tennessee Backroads was recommended. A similar book, Touring the Middle Tennessee Backroads is also available. I am happy to say I found both reasonably priced on half.com.

Great books and once again I want to say thank-you to all of you for the wealth of info. you provide us.

We'll see if we can locate it when we go through there mid-Oct. That sounds really interesting. Thanks for mentioning it. Hopefully, it will still be there and accessible to photograph.

We will definitely have the digital ready this trip. Our lovely drive up through the N. GA mountains to Brass Town Bald was captured only on my cell phone camera. If I can figure out the memory chip, I might be able to download them.

How come we remember to take a couple of drinks along, but forget the camera? Plan ahead is my motto; now if I could just follow it!
