I am a mother of four looking to relocate as my youngest will be going off to college in a couple of years. I live in Columubus, Oh and I just cant stand the winters anymore so I looking to move to a place that it does not snow, or at least so little that driving in bad weather is not an issue.
Here's what I'm looking for in my new town;
coffee shops
neighborhood taverns
organic markets
book stores
lots of sunny days
low humidity
"B" movie theaters
nearby hiking and bike paths would be nice
safety/low crime (of course)
and of course, little/no snow

Any ideas???

Well, I could suggest areas in and around the Nashville area for most of the things on your list; however, like most of the south, it can get pretty humid in the summer here. And while it doesn't snow all that much here, it can be a problem when we get one of the larger, unexpected snowstorms (for a variety of reason . . . the road departments don't have as much snow removal equipment, it can sometimes be more ice than snow, the terrain is hilly, and, yes, the drivers never have time to really get used to driving in the snow).

I'm not trying to talk you out of moving to Tennessee or other southern state, but from your list it almost sounds like some place out west or southwest would work better for you. Are you willing to move that far?

Too little on the list sound like Tennessee. Think you should try another state.

Sounds like western North Carolina. You may want to look at Boone, Blowing Rock or Asheville. I've spent some time in all 3 areas and all are very nice.
