Heres yet ANOTHER relocation question. Mine is pretty simple. Which city is best for a young married couple looking to start a family in the next couple of years. Nashville, Chattanooga or Knoxville? We currently live in the North East and are looking to relocate back down south (thank goodness!) within the next 6 months. ANY info you are willing to share would be much apreciated. Thanks!

very vague

100 --young married couples-- would probably give 100 different answers.

my apologies------------I noticed you had narrowed it to 3 cities so it isn't as vague as I stated.

I'm fond of Knoxville personally. It's got the best of all worlds--a nice clean city, with good schools and beautiful super-rural areas nearby, or nice suburbs too if that's your thing lol. Great music scene of all types, tons of modern-day diversity.

It's great--from my perspective anyway.

Although I'm old. And my family is already half grown...

But it gets my vote anyway lol. I know I jumped around on this post, sorry!

The best city is the one where you'll find work.

That's a pretty tall order, seeing as how we don't know that much about your preferences. Nashville is much bigger than Knoxville, which in turn is somewhat bigger than Chattanooga. Also, all three cities have very different cultures; Nashville's is more modern-urban, Knoxville has close ties to its Appalachian-esque heritage while still retaining a modern feel, and Chattanooga borders the deeper South / North GA region, but is more artsy than Knox.

Like LauraC said, can you find a job in any of these cities? That's the most important question.

Truer words were never spoken, folks--a job is pretty darned important...unless you're a young couple who is independently wealthy!

Good luck!
