We are into jazz music and would like to relocate to TN. What cities are best for Jazz? My husband would love to "sit in" on drums on "open Mic" night for free. We are two retired folks young at heart. We have a modest income. ($50,000.00). We would probably rent/buy a condo. We love to eat out and have all the amenities of Walmart stores and restaurants. What town/city is a good fit for us? Healthcare is important too.

Especially if your hubby leans towards blues/jazz, instead of a more modern/eclectic type jazz.
The Nashville music scene is very strong, I'm sure there's jazz all over there although I'm not as familiar with it. Maybe someime else can chime in?
And there's Knoxville, which is more or less equivalent to Memphis, affordability wise. The flagship state university is here which gives the area a little boost in culture and arts.
