Default Oak Ridge Growth

The Oak Ridge Observer (free weekly newspaper) included a 32 page supplement in its Feb 1, 2007 edition on community growth. The town game plan has always been to grow the town from approximately 27,000 to 35,000 by 2012. I thought I would list some of the new growth or growth planned for the town – housing, retail and business/government - because even if you don’t plan to live in Oak Ridge, some of you may be interested in jobs or shopping. If you are interested in any of these new places for jobs, living or shopping, you are on your own to do more research about them.

New Housing

Crossroads at Wolf Creek (near the Boeing Plant): 112 single family homes, 64 townhouses
Royce Hill Towns and Gardens (Highland View): 52 single level apartments, 20 townhomes
Not Named (land near South Hills Golf Course): 300 homes (Spring construction)
Rarity Oaks (near Oak Ridge Country Club): 550 lots
Rarity Ridge: (in Roane County) 2,500 – 3,000 families, town center, mini water park
Bristol Park Apartments (Emory Valley Rd): 208 units (under construction now)
Centennial Village: (Edgemoor Rd): up to 900 houses, condos, townhomes, luxury apartments

Jza is on a distinguished road
Oak Ridge sounds like an area for wealthy folk. Wonder if there's any affordable rentals there. Nice info Laura.
