We have another winter storm on the way. This storm will affect 110 million people in 30 states. We have a 70% chance of a wintry mix on Wednesday.

Aparently Lubbock, after reaching 60 today, is expecting 1-3" of snow overnight tonight. Then the wave Dallaz is talking about, could also come with accumulating snow. This winter all of a sudden decided to be a real one Tuesday.

Yeah. The average temperatures of 36-57 (DFW) sound really warm now. Motorcycle riding is a distant memory. On the other hand, I really have dodged a bullet. I had a frozen pipe for three days which thawed out today with no apparent damage. I'll set the drip a lot stronger Tuesady night than I did last time.

I noticed the temperature as well. The Weather Channel is calling for a high of 24 and a low of 17...but a wintry mix? That isn't possible at those deep freezing temperatures. It would be an all snow event. Especially with the night before being just 19 degrees. Whatever. They will change it so many times between now and then anyway, complete with arbitrary lines and cut offs along the I-35 Corridor or just west of Fort Worth. They will probably end up forecasting a light dusting the night before and then we will end up with 10 inches! They've done that before, most recently this past Friday.

We've had snow at warmer temps...that's the good kind of winter precipitation.

Why can't it be like last year? 5 x snow...NO ICE.

I know. I hope the ICE storm we had Tuesday morning was it for this year. It would have been all snow if it hadn't been for the storm suddenly gaining speed. The cold air hadn't completely moved in place when the storm arrived. That warmer air was still aloft, unfortunately. I bet the whole ICE mess wouldn't have happened if the storm had maintained its slower speed. Oh well. I had fun since UT Dallas closed and I got paid time off from work.
