Enlighten me. I've lived in Texas for five years now and been to Oklahoma several times. To someone like me, who is not a native, there doesn't seem to be a lick of difference between the two places. Texas has more variety, true, but it seems that, culturally speaking, you could merge the two and few would notice.
Am I wrong? Tell me why.

Yes, you are wrong. Oklahomans are crazy-dangerous people. Of course, not all of them all the time. It's more of a trend of the general population than any individual, though it isn't too difficult to find some individuals who would fit the description. I've not had too much trouble when I've gone to Oklahoma, though I've seen some. I must say, though, that the Oklahoma police had a chance to nail me, issue me a traffic ticket, but declined to do so. That speaks against their reputation for being abusive.

I'm not a native Texan, either, but I do observe how human populations naturally share characteristics. You know about accents when people speak, but human behavior is full of characteristics that groups of people may share simply by virtue of their association with each other. It shows in their driving, their demeanor, their reasoning and point of view. People in Oklahoma have their own slight behavior distinctions, too.

Aside from that...
Which would you choose to be called - a Texan, or an Okie?

Oklahoma is one of the worst Bible Belt state , too much for my taste. In Texas you are not been asked right away to which church you are going . There is also a serious lack of diversity , including in OKC and culture.

texas is a pretty flat in most areas but not all (hill country and west texas). oklahoma is basically bland all over. that's how i basically view their personalities

especially (or mainly) bigger cities, theres more diversity in race, culture, and point of views. i've been to oklahoma quite a few times, stayed in okc for about 3 weeks and tulsa in one for work. they are definitely the most boring people i've come across. no personality, nothing new i saw in everyday life one could spice or mix it up. glad i don't live there.

You obviously don't get out much, and have never visited SE Oklahoma. Beautiful country.

Differences? More Injuns in OK.

Lol I've been all over the country idk how many times.
I guess I offended an Oklahoma resident. That's true though the transition from Arkansas into OK is nicer than other areas. I still stand by my other comments though.

I think that stereotyping states as large and diverse as Texas and Oklahoma is a waste of time. I waste my time answering here simply because I am retired and my time is very cheap.

There are HUGE differences between eastern and western Texas and just as there are as many differences from east to west in Oklahoma. There are differences not only in physiography but also in the history of the people who live in these areas. Now if you want to compare hilly, rocky and treed eastern Oklahoma with sandy, flatter and treed areas of eastern Texas, or even the two panhandles, you may get some valid replies.

Never has eastern Oklahoma, or eastern Texas, suffered such conditions as this.

What stands out the most about Oklahoma to me is the high percentage of people that live from government checks and how flat and boring it is to drive through Oklahoma (add paying toll to that)
