It's no wonder why Houston is still the clear, long term leader of this poll.

Houston-area data center secures $33M in cash

http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/b...m-in-cash.html

Quote:
A Houston-area data center company has secured $33.5 million in financing. Holliday Fenoglio Fowler LP, or HFF, announced Sept. 8 it secured the loan for Houston Bunker LLC, the company behind Westland Bunker, as part of a recapitalization project. The Westland Bunker is a data center that was converted from an underground nuclear bomb shelter. Today, the data center is 90 percent leased, according to a statement.

Westland Bunker announced in April last year that it would triple in size with a 105,000-square-foot expansion that would move the total size of Westland Bunker to 143,000 square feet. That expansion began in the same month and was expected to be completed sometime this year. The facility also consists of a 61,086-square-foot office building.
This was an already impressive facility, it's now going to be 3 times the originally planned size.

Popular Houston restaurants open new locations

http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/n...locations.html

Quote:
Two of Houston's most popular barbecue and burger joints both opened new Houston locations this week. More than half a year after shutting down operations, Gatlin's BBQ welcomed its first patrons to preview its new brick-and-mortar location on Ella Boulevard this Labor Day, Sept. 7, the Houston Chronicle reported. The location will officially open on Sept. 11.

Gatlin's is easily some of the best BBQ in Texas.

New office tower on the way in Dallas Design District | | Dallas Morning News
Quote:
“We think it’s a great location,” said Dunhill Partners CEO Bill Hutchinson. “We have a lot of pent up demand for office space in the Design District but none is available.

“We’ve already had a lot of interest in the building,” Hutchinson said. “We think we will be 60 percent leased before we break ground.

Not to mention the office high-rise taking over Van Loc whenever that gets started. The bridging of skylines is not happening in 15 years though. I don't even think that area will be fully developed along the rail in 15 years. I'll be contempt with mid-rises to densify the area with scattered high-rises in between downtown and the Medical Center.
