I'd like to explore all four of your big cities this summer if possible, but I'm unsure of what order it would be best or cheaper relating to gas, tolls, or mileage. What would you suggest? I want to get an idea of what each city is like for possible relocation.

Also, I'd have about 10 days so I'm not sure how long I'd want to spend in each city

I'd start in Dallas, take I-35 south to Austin, go another hour south down I-35 to San Antonio, and then head eastward on to Houston. Very geographically logical.

San Antonio, Austin, Houston, then fly out of Dallas. Come to SA during Fiesta. DFW has the best airport.

got my trip booked and so excited! I extended the vacation to 12 days and will be staying 3 nights in Dallas, 3 nights in San Antonio, 3 nights in Houston, and 3 nights in Austin. I should be able to explore a lot in that time. I will be flying in and out of Houston the second week of July. Now it's just writing down a rough itinerary of everything I want to see in each city.
