How is the driving experience on this highway? Have you driven 85 mph (or faster)?

The road is very nice. It's a much better alternative to crazy I-35! We stick to the 85 speed limit. There are quite a few DPS enforcing it!

I stay in the 75-80 range when on it, it is more the design speed of my Subaru Forester...85 is just a little above what I really need to drive. Now, if I had my old Maxima still, that would be a different story .

Yeah, I'd hope you stay on the right lane.

I bet 85 on that road feels slow anyway. How much does it cost with TXTag?

Honestly, most of the time I am on it now there is enough traffic that it is significantly below the posted speed. But yeah, right lane unless I am passing. Still quite a few people will go 65 or 70 out of habit.

I think that's my truck!

I drive it pretty frequently. Honestly, most of the time I find myself doing 80 in the right lane - 85 feels like I'm trying too hard in the SUV.

The SHO Taurus, OTOH - well, I try to keep it under 90.

It's dark as all get out at night out there, so you have to keep a wary eye out for feral hogs that like to cross the road.

We usually go about what everyone else is going...somewhere around 85-90mph. It's very much worth the toll to go from Georgetown to Seguine in order to skip the nightmare of traffic and bad drivers on I-35.

I think I-35 would be a better choice if it was from 10 p.m. at night to 4 a.m. because it's free and less miles to San Antonio from Georgetown. Don't you think?

Maybe for a lot of people, but not always for me. I would still rather drive with far less traffic on a brand new, state-of-the-art highway that has hardly any on/off ramps.

That's true. Although, it's 128 miles from Georgetown to San Antonio using Toll Road 130 as oppose to 106 miles on I-35. I'm not sure if its that much of a difference going at 85 mph while 65 mph (70 mph?) on I-35 from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.?

I know some posters would ask, "Who would go around that late anyway?".
