The Spurs have the most fans. Rockets and Mavs split the rest. James Harden is probably the most popular player in Texas

Spurs. Did you really have to ask?

Most popular sure. Not most-liked though or even most respected. For that, Dirk and Duncan have to battle it out. Harden or someone must have paid the referees nightly, or do they really fear the beard? The Mavs/Rockets game tonight was terribly officiated.

If you're a Mavs and Rocket fan, of course.

If you're anywhere else outside of Texas, no, you don't have to ask. The answer is pretty solid.

I figured the Spurs would receive the most votes. Just nice to connect with some Mavs fans... *still waiting*

Funny thing is that the San Antonio news media doesn't talk much about the Spurs until NFL season is over (February)
They rather talk about the Cowboys than the Spurs.

Thank God now I live in Houston where they talk about the local teams

The Spurs, followed by the Mavericks.

This map gives a good idea about the geography the three Texas NBA fan bases cover.

My impression is that the Mavs have a solid base in DFW and north Texas, the Rockets in Houston and southeast Texas, and of course the Spurs are big in in San Antonio and Central Texas, but the Spurs have more fans far away from their region across Texas and the country. Now given the much larger populations in DFW and Houston, its probably a little bit more balanced in numbers, but the Spurs seem to have fans all over.

He keeps attacking the rim while showing the ball so players reach. Defenders have to stop taking the bait but the reality is if they don't then he'll shoot a layup. The best way to guard him is move your feet and keep your hands up when he drives but that's hard to do because he is so crafty.

Some words from Steve Kerr on Harden.

Kerr said in addition to instructing his players how to defend Harden without fouling, he has told them not to allow themselves to be frustrated when Harden draws fouls anyway.

"I have to tell myself that, too," Kerr said. "It is frustrating. Like the first time we played them, I thought there were a couple bad calls, and I watched the tape and was like, 'Yeah, we reached in.' "
