According to a article in todays Houston Chronicle, our Governor Gregg Abbott is ordering the Texas Militia to "keep an eye" on Federal troops (US Federal troops btw) conducting exercises in Texas. This monitoring is supposedly to insure that Federal troops do not seize property belonging to Texans among other things.: Question is this paranoid behavior on the part of the state of Texas or do you think this is a prudent use of the Texas Military ?

"Texas Governor Greg Abbott has ordered members of the Texas Military to monitor federal troops in an upcoming two-month training exercise planned for the Lone Star State.
Operation Jade Helm will bring the U.S. military's most elite soldiers, including the Green Berets and Navy SEALS, to Texas for simulated special operations in a hostile territory. But plans for the exercise have roused fears in many Texans of a federal occupation."

Pandering to the conspiracy theorist crowd. I hear the tin foil is flying off the shelves these days.

I thought Jade Helm was just a conspiracy theory. There are actual maneuvers with that name?

I say they sneak up on their Jade Helm soldiers and blast them with paintballs. Let's start a real fake war.

Yes, the Militia is going to "keep an eye on them". WTH does that mean? Fine with me, I suppose, as long as it doesn't cost anything. Just don't get in the way, I have as much state pride as the next guy, but I don't want our militia to get in a tussle with the elite forces.....
