I'm curious. If you're living in other states, and were/are thinking to move to Texas. After seeing the blackout and burst pipes in Texas from the winter storm, do you still want to move to Texas? Why or why not?

No! Please take heed, all of you! Between the ice storms, summer heat, rattlesnakes everywhere, tornadoes every week, hurricanes, tsunamis, dust storms, and invasions of giant tarantulas, Texas is a horrible place! Do yourselves a favor and don't move here!

I did consider moving to Texas a few months ago. I had decided that it was against my best interests at the time to move. Now I am actually glad I had not moved. I do lament how much Texas has probably changed in the past year. I'm noticing that specific places I wanted to go to have permanently closed.

I do think this is probably an event that won't happen often. At the same time what's happening there makes me wonder if the same thing could happen anywhere elsem

I had Texas on my maybe move to from Atlanta for a while. Had Houston off the list because of Harvey and the floods. The recent winter storm definitely got me with more hesitation. I hope to see what Texas does with fortifying its power system.

Houston still saw Exponential growth after Harvey so I don’t think Texas will necessarily have a particular slow down But it will definitely change some peoples minds on coming here at least in the short run

Really? Exponential? Geometric expansion would be spectacular enough, but exponential is really something.

That storm was a once in a generation (or longer) event. For me personally the crappy summertime climate of the Texas Triangle is/was more of a concern. It's a big reason why we finally moved away.

Yes! And don't forget the yetis, scorpions, ice wolves, and swamp devils. The state is a death trap!
