Does anyone know if I could take my 16 y.o. Cousin to get an ID card, or does the parent have to go with him?

If my sons homeschooled and has no photo ID, when I go take him to get his ID from the dps office will his birth certificate, SS card and an electric bill in MY name for proof of residency be ok? He’s only 17 so he has no bills. We live in Texas

You need yours and his SS card, 2 proofs of residency on your name- bill, bank statement, lease or mortgage papers, your driver license, his proof of citizenship- birth certificate or passport and proof that he's enrolled at school. I don't have any idea what they want from homeschooled kids regarding enrollment. Call them and ask before you go there, too much hassle to go twice.
