My husband used to be Lee Jeans guy when he was in college--then wore Levis with button fly--but now he is a Wrangler guy all the way...not a cowboy--just a Texan...
he wears the original MWZ cowboy cut not the rigids
from what I have noticed Wranglers fit guys with a flatter b-hind better than Levis which are cut/made differently

what is the opinon out there--

I grew up on Levi's, but then again, I grew up in Virginia, not Texas. I got the notion into my head as a child that only poor kids wore Wranglers, perhaps because the few "farm kids" we knew wore them. Of course, those families probably had more money than we did--we were poor enough at one point that my mother made some of our clothes--so my prejudice likely had no foundation in reality. I just REALLY didn't want to be seen as poor.

Anyway, we plan to arrive in Texas in the first week of July. I'll go try a pair of Wranglers shortly thereafter.

It's been said (& I agree) that Wranglers offer a "scosche" more room.

Since college, it's definitely been Wrangers.

Im not a jeans kina guy but my Texan wife says Wranglers are for Cowboys and give any guy a nice caboose. Even if he dont have one. So far she has not talked me into wearing them and my caboose is not flat. She tries though.

Levis 505. 501s aren't bad but 505s fit better and the zipper fly is more convenient. Wal-Mart now sells some decent $20 Levi's but you can tell it's a style made specifically for Wal-Mart (no model number). I have one pair of $60 Levi's Docker jeans which are the best-fitting, most comfortable pair I own. 517s are not my thing. Those + ****-kickers + plaid shirts and big wallets all go hand in hand, but are essentially unfounded on the Gulf Coast, outside February rodeo season that is.

And Rustlers cannot be beat for working on a dirty job site. They look pretty terrible (unstylish cut) and stain the dryer indigo, but they're comfortable & I don't feel so bad when they get splashed with mud/muck because they're only $8.99.

Lee's last a long time but can feel like sandpaper.
