I found a real estate property that I'm interested in in Fruitvale, Texas. I know it's a pretty small town, but I'd love some feedback about it from anyone who has been there. Is it friendly? Is there anything to do? Would you live there?

Fruitvale isn't quite in the middle of nowhere, but you can definitely see it from there. The nearest town of any consequence is Edgewood (pop. 1,348), and the next is Mineola (pop. 4,550). "Small" is an understatement.

However, it is a very peaceful part of the state and close enough to DFW and Tyler to where you can take a relatively quick drive to "civilization". If you fish, there are plenty of lakes in the area as well.

As far as people go, East Texans are generally friendly and inviting, with a few exceptions.

As for your last question, yes; I would live there. I've been dying to get away from the city for years.

I drive through Fruitvale a few times a year, if I recall correctly there is a school, and convenience store, and perhaps a farm and ranch supply store. It is a pretty area on Hwy 80 though.

Thank you so much for the feedback! Currently we've found properties in Fruitvale and Denison that interest us. Maybe I'll post a thread about Denison and see what feedback people have. It helps so much to read what the locals have to say!
