Greetings, all! We're relocating to the Perrysburg (or possibly Maumee) area in about three months. My wife grew up in Perrysburg, so we're quite familiar with the area but we're less familiar with the real estate market. We intend on purchasing a home and we're seeking something of a "fixer-upper" project because it sounds like fun and would be nice to add some value to a home. I have seen some screaming deals in the area at the corner of Indiana Rd and Co Rd 107 (Oregon Rd), in and around a development with street names like "Starlight" "Starlawn" "Starbright", etc. Does anyone know anything about this development or why there are a disproportionate number of inexpensive homes on the market in this realtively small area? They seem like absolutely great deals and places to which some value can be added via some sweat equity, and they even seem to be underpriced by Zillow's standards. Any insight here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I don't know why, for sure, but it's kind of an isolated area. You're not near anything besides Owens Community College. Plus the houses just aren't what's trendy anymore. Split levels and what not. Not to be judgmental but I've seen peoplethat don't necessarily reek of affluence who live there. That doesn't mean anything though. It seems decent enough. If the area and the style works for you, I say go for it.
