Rent around Church and Wellesley is usually cheaper, but if you're looking in that area, make sure you check with this website before deciding on a place:

Actually come to think of it, I googled a couple of addresses in that area and bed bug reports came up for them. Does that area have a rep for having bed bugs in their buildings?

it really depends on your luck.
I lived in one of those addresses with bad rep on that website, but had no problem for 2 years whatsoever. People had the experience of bringing back bedbugs from four-star hotels on the other hand.

Maybe talking to a few existing tenant is a good idea. Sometimes those online reports/comments can be really misleading and biased. Some people complain wherever they do and are never satisfied. I wouldn't use those as the sole source.
