Hi all,
My husband and I will be relocating in January. We are trying to decide where we want to rent for the first year.
He will be driving to work in Etobicoke, office on West Mall. On a typical day he would want to be in the office around 7-7:30 am.
We are leaning towards the Port Credit/Lorne Park area but are worried about the commute time. How bad is it? Maybe we should be in a different neighbourhood? We’d like to be closer to the lake, trails, parks etc. But at the same time still have the option of a few restaurants and shops near by.
Any suggestions are appreciated!
In the GTA you have to do your homework or you can be stuck in a place that
does not suit you.
I have lived in...
Toronto proper ....High Park
Etoicoke ...South Kingsway
Mississauga ....Cooksville
Oakville....West Oak Trails...Glen Abbey...Bronte
Burlington...Millcroft
Most of those locations were/are good....only mistake I made was Cooksville,
near go station...good....area not so good.
Best areas of Mississauga are: Lorne Park (the best), Clarkson, Rattray Marsh,
Also sections of Port Credit, Streetsville, Old Meadowvale Village, and along Mississauga Road,
and the Bridal Path area is good too (not as good as the Bridal Path in Toronto, LOL).
Rest of Mississauga is a mixed bag, ok at best.
I grew up in Port Credit. It's changed so much, it's so nice now! Your commute at that time of morning would be just fine. Lorne Park puts you a little farther but not much. Great areas for schools, not sure if you have kids.
I just realized I can give advice instead of ask for it in this forum. I think I might finally be settled in here
