- For high end Dim Sum: Lai Wah Heen (
Lai Wah Heen Chinese Restaurant, Chinese Dim Sum Restaurant Toronto, Lai Toh Heen, Metropolitan Hotels)
This restaurant is a gem in Toronto, and boasts a high end dim sum that can probably only be rivaled in SF outside of Asia.
- If you are looking at staying out West there is an excellent Dim Sum place named Grand Chinese Cuisine (

- Ideally though you should really try to make the trip out to Markham/Richmond Hill if you are a Chinese food lover. The quality and variety is unmatched in Toronto (outside of Lai Wah Heen).
For Dim Sum in Richmond Hill I would recommend Yangs Fine Chinese Cuisine (
Enjoy Toronto - Dining, Traveling and Hotel: Yang's Fine Chinese Cuisine)
There are also countless other non dim sum options if you would like as well. If you spend alot of time in NYC the one area that they lack is Cantonese in my opinion, so a trip to Tanchikee in Markham would be worthwhile (
Tanchikee Restaurant)
- If you are looking for Chinese style Seafood though, it is best to go more high end for a true Chinese experience. With Toronto being landlocked and lacking in truly great fish markets the higher end Chinese restaurants have the funds and financial backing to fly in the highest quality ingredients. I recommend Ambassador Chinese Cuisine in Richmond Hill for great chinese seafood (http://www.dine.to/ambassador (broken link))
Let me conclude by saying to stay away from Buffet's, it does a disservice to the incredible Chinese options that are available in the GTA to eat at one, enjoy!
