I have a question. I have heard horror stories about people being stuck in the airport in Delhi because they have no visa or a transit visa so I am looking to get a tourist visa just in case when I travel through Delhi. However, I have heard that you can only enter India on a tourist visa once every two months. Is this true? Will I get stuck then if my whole purpose is to travel through Delhi by air to other destinations? I don't intend to leave the airport. The tourist visa will just be for insurance.

If you are just making a international connection through the airport there is no need for a Visa as you are not going through immigration. So don't leave T3 and use the same airline for both legs.

If you have to enter india more then once in a month, there is a provision for that in the tourist visa application also. Please look at the visa information provided by the indian embassy website.

I'd look into a transit visa if possible. My tourist visa to India was 200 dollars, definitely not something I'd want to pay if I didn't have to.
