I saw the google car in the neighborhood about a year ago, this was the best picture I could get of it at the time. However the car seems to be very simple with only a multi-camera-pod coming out of the top of the car. It's not easy to see in the picture, sorry. However the car simply drives on every street of every neighborhood to get the coverage of video that they use. Major populated areas are covered first and then lower populated small cities get covered later. It would be a wonderful job to have driving around in that car however.
