I am hoping someone could please help me. My father is coming to visit me from Russia, they have 220 volts and round plugs. I need a converter for their laptop and phones. Could someone tell me if this one from Walmart will do the trick or recommend another. I'm looking for one that isn't too bulky and too expensive. Thank you.
I don't know a whole lot about it, I've only gone the other way--my 110 plugs into 220 outlets, and have a converter/adapter for that. I would suggest he either buy one there, or that you stop into a place like Radio Shack for assistance.

A voltage adapter is one thing. However, remember this:
If he has numerous items which require electrical power, a laptop, mp3 player, cellphone, etc ONE voltage adapter isn't going to be enough. He might want to bring a power strip from Russia with him. That way you can plug in the voltage adapter and plug the power strip into it. Make sure the power strip is dual voltage too.
I short circuited the entire hotel in Vienna, by not having a a dual voltage power strip.
