Several years back NPS determined they could not send every seasonal LE Ranger to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco GA. Hence they decided to have seasonal LE Ranger academies at accredited junior colleges. Their curriculum would largely be abbreviated from the FLETC program, aimed specifically for the seasonal Patrol Ranger. I know of a program in Arizona (Flagstaff?) and one at Santa Rosa JC in Northern California. They go thru the standard national law enforcement training but in a shorter timeframe...I do not think it meets POST requirements though.
Say you do work several seasons as a LE Ranger and manage to get on permanent you will still have to attend FLETC.
I did know folks, when I was with NPS, that would work LE in a national park in CA May thru November and then work wildland fire at a Florida park December thru April all as a seasonal. However no benefits, health coverage (besides workers comp), etc.
