We'll drive around Nova Scotia doing the Annapolis Valley, stopping in Luninburg,Peggys Cove, the fort at Loiusburg and for scenery drive the Cabot trail.
Then off to Prince Edward Island, Charlottetown and the beaches.
Starting from Montreal it Should take about 3 weeks.
That sounds like a fun vacation idea. As for me, I'm probably going to take a couple of road trips around my area. See where the road takes me.

I guess the idea of summer vacation came about because thats when kids would be out of school and we'd all get bundled in the car and off we went to some location Mom and Dad thought every one would enjoy, i used to hate the long rides, for a few years back in the early 60's Mom would insist we go see her sister in Winnipeg which was fine but we lived in St Petersburg Florida

That will be a perfect trip! Be sure to give Cape Breton at least 3 days. On the way up there from Halifax you will need to make stops at Clam Harbour and Taylor Head. There are not too many places to spend the night along that route so you will definitely want a reservation. The Liscomb Lodge would be a good choice.

As for me, I like to stay close to home in the summer and enjoy the beautiful Lake Michigan beaches here in Wisconsin.

We are off to Sturgis, SD with some friends from the UK who have chosen to get married there. We have a cabin for the week so we will also visit Mt.Rushmore and Devils Tower in Wyoming.

Other than that we are off to the UK for a week in October.

I never vacation in the summer, except for some beach weekends--always the off-season. Summer is too hot, too crowded in a lot of places.

Grandparents are taking everyone to Riviera Maya in June for a family reunion

They are pretty freakin' awesome. They did this back in 2008 but to Jamaica.

4th of July weekend my wife and I have a 4-day trip down to Sea Isle City, NJ for a wedding... got a hotel right on the beach. Not usually a fan of Jersey beaches but I've only been to the busier areas where it's too crowded, so I'm looking forward to a more quiet atmosphere.

Then the last week in July we just booked a Myrtle Beach trip... another resort right off the beach. Definitely looking forward to that as well...
