I do a fair amount of local travel in the Philly area (parks, historic sites, etc.) and once or twice a year go on 4-7 day vacations. I take lots of photos and always have stories to tell. Only now did it occur to me that there'd be apps/web sites that would cater to travel journals: somewhere that I could combine some well curated pictures, add a map, and have some narrative, maybe even adding recommendations for places to stay/eat/etc. I don't want a blog per se, like Wordpress or Tumblr, but instead somewhere that like-minded people can share travel experiences.

Googling "travel journal app" uncovered a dizzying # of apps and web sites. I'm going to look at some of these, of course, but thought I'd crowd source this. So, can anyone point me to (or away from) an app or web site (ideally, it'd work on both Android and desktop browser)?

Thanks for your help!

It seems blogging platforms often end up with circles of like-minded people who exchange a lot of ideas. Travel bloggers, vintage clothing bloggers, model train bloggers, etc. they follow each others' content and post comments back and forth.
