In the 70s as a kid i was there 3 times, in the 80s as an adult, 7 times. 90s, 1 time. In 2002 i took my OH ( other half), for whom it was first time ever there. That was the last time i/we were there. It used to be i had been so many times, i could give the tour, but now i understand a lot has changed?

So, my question is: what has drastically changed since 2002??? Does anyone frequently visit enough to tell me ?

I guess now they Charge for parking at one of their resorts....i think thats ridiculous! I mean we're paying for the room already!! It should include free parking. Maybe to keep riff raff from parking there free to try and get into the parks.

What is this fast pass "wrist band " they have?

What other new costs should we look out for???

What rides have gone, what are new?

Tell me about what it costs now? For a park hopper pass? Do they still have them?

I understand LOTS has changed, since 2002?

Options for one of us(me) uses a cane now and one of us uses one for a lot of walking, which is self explanatory for Disney world....options??? Bring a wheelchair too?

Thanks for any help...may you have a Magical Day!

Last time we went to Disney it cost us thousands .that is all I remember . We are currently 45 minutes from Disney checking out the villages . A 40 square mile retirement community known as Disney for adults .

They have a deal ,for 99 bucks a day you get a 400k house , a golf cart and all access passes to everything here . You can use it for a week.

We can pop over to Disney and drive back home. The only thing is you need to be at least 55 to get this deal to check out the villages .

We want to rent here in the winter for a month or 2

Yeah meanwhile i called 1-407-wdisney. About $3500 next October for 4 adults for 6 days on grounds value resort and 4 day park hopper passes for each.

Used to be fairly cheap to go, IF you knew how to do it, but wow now!! Plus food, at least a grand each ( not the food, total). Actually i guess that since it used to cost $300-500, i guess for 16 years, maybe thats not bad....

We ARE all over 55. ( well i just turned 55 , im the youngest of the group, lol).

Thanks mathjak....

What say others,? Any one?

Thanks, have a Magical day...

I read in the last few days that Disney is a "people trap" set by a mouse.

I spent thousands too for a week stay. Aside from rides, the African Theme Hotel just outside Disney proper was a wonderful treat...your balcony looks out over grasslands with giraffe, zebra, antelope, boar, etc.

magical...

Less than $900 per person for 6 days’ accommodations and admission to major tourist attractions really isn’t terrible.

You should check out the Disboards

They have hundreds of people on there who know literally everything and love to help people plan their trips

The only thing I would caution you on is 4 adults in one value room. Sounds too tight for me but again, a good question to ask over there

i think the biggest between 2002 and now at WDW is the crowds. The crowds were low in 2002 not so much now. lots of new rides and fees . Still a favorite place of mine to visit once a year.
