Would my SUV make it or should I just take the train and if I do that can you get around vegas by bus? I wish the USA would have more trains in cities like China. We have too many regulations though.

This is not a travel question, but an auto question that your mechanic should help answering. No two used vehicles are in the same condition, so it is not really answerable online without many very specific details about the individual vehicle’s condition.

LOL go to your local, proven mechanic - we can't help you with that. If the car is found to be in good condition, go for it! Sounds like an awesome road trip (especially the Boston-to-Vegas option); I'd love to have enough time off to do something like that

Boston to Vegas or Orlando is a cheaper flight than paying for gas and hotels when driving.

If you're going to drive go to a good mechanic, be sure you have good tires, AAA is useful and be prepared.

Yeah but then you have to buy another vehicle when you get there.

You did not say it was a one way trip, as in you are moving.

How we supposed to answer that? Not enough info like mileage, maintenance records/history, general condition, tires etc.
Is that your car? Or you want to buy this car for the trip?
Bring it to trusted mechanic and let him go through a detailed check. Find out what needs to be repaired before you take the trip.
Only mechanic can tell you if the car is going to make it without major problems.
I would rather rent a car for such long trip.

BTW: US is the most car dependent country in the world, so don't expect great public transit anywhere except in few cities.

Our 2002 Corvette Vert, with then ~60,000 miles, ran like a top for a 3 month road trip/35 states/5 provinces of Canada, a couple years ago.

Still have it, since new back in '02. I would get in it and repeat this summer, in a NY Minute.

None of us know the condition your car is in...I would pass on driving that car, for any kind of 'fun', around the block.
