Must all venmo transfers physically occur in the US, or can I use it abroad as long as the transfer is in US currency to a US resident?
Edit - it appears that I do need to be physically in the United States.
What alternatives to venmo have people used? I'm relying on my significant other to pay with their card so we can collect points. However the strategy was I would help pay the balance by venmoing them after the transaction...
You can send via PayPal or zelle/quikpay. I haven't had issues with those so far while traveling internationally except zelle while in China for some reason (but PayPal worked). Also, you could just pay them when you get back. If it is a credit card they technically aren't paying until the next month or two (when the bill is due after the cycle closes out)
