Is Greyhound safe?
I am planning a trip from FL to NC on Greyhound. Flights are too expensive during Spring Break and the bus is the cheaper alternative. However, I am a bit concerned. Is the bus a safe way to travel? Thanks.

I used it a lot as a young person, and my sons and their friends have used it here in north Florida with no trouble at all.

Safe if you use your normal good judgement. The people and incidents you'll encounter along the way will range from amusing to bizarre, however...

probably
I took a Greyhound bus from harrisburg to DC last Saturday. It was very safe, very quiet, and actually kind of relaxing. However I have also heard Greyhound horror storries both in effiency and safety. The main thing I would do if I were you is bring entertainment on board. It is a long trip.

Well I decided NOT to take Greyhound on such a long trip. I have read plenty of horrible stories about it and decided that I rather not be a victim. Thanks all for your suggestions...but I am flying.

Its slower and you meet a different clientele than in air travel. But its generally safe.

As long as you are on the bus, you are safe. But the neighborhoods around the bus stations are pretty sketchy.

Yes it's safe. I used to take the Greyhound with some family back in my youth days.
