NEW ORLEANS, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Nickelodeon, the city of New Orleans and Southern Star Amusement have announced plans to create a themed water park called Nickelodeon Universe New Orleans.
Nickelodeon and Southern Star have entered into a licensing arrangement in which Southern Star will construct the park featuring the Nickelodeon brand and characters from its TV programs such as "SpongeBob SquarePants," "Dora the Explorer," "Go, Diego, Go!" and "Avatar: The Last Airbender."
I hope they are able to get this park back up and running. The location isn't good, but Six Flags was getting the park turned around before Katrina flooded the whole place. It's sad to drive past this everyday on the way to work and see it closed.

really? I thought the entire Six Flags there was a fiasco. It was losing money and not gaining visitors. I think Katrina helped Six Flags out by wiping out the entire thing.
This is a phenomenal decision Nickelodeon and the City of New Orleans has agreed upon to have a newly develope water/theme park in Eastern New Orleans....the city needs that area to re-establish itself after 5 years of slow progress of the East area. This will help inspire other major corporation to come back to such a beautiful city with great people to do business with. New Orleans is one of the hottest cities of south and is up to par with Atlanta, Houston, Miami, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, and Baton Rouge
