Rental houses (renters, buying a home, buying)

Any suggestions for where to look for rental houses? I have been perusing Craigslist and I know about Celoski and Associates (sp?) but do the local papers tend to have listings or are there any good property management companies in the area that could help me? Honestly, with the need for 4 bedrooms and having three pets my pickins' seem to be pretty slim to none.

And on a side note, buying a home is out of the question for us for reasons too lengthy to get into...

The rental market is tight here, since people don't know you they will be understandably reluctant to rent to someone with 3 pets, particularly dogs. I like dogs as well as the next guy, but many renters let their dogs run more or less rampant in the yard and even in the house. Maybe you don't, but you'll be tarred with the same brush, deserve it or not.

I don't mean to be harsh, I'm just trying to describe the situation on the ground here as it actually is.

Many rentals here are indivdual land-lords, and many are not advetized.

4 bedrooms is going to cost you, you usually don't see rent houses with more than 3, and 2 is more common.
