Am I missing something here or are the previous 5 posts of the last 3 days not directed at somebody who joined the site, posted here twice back in late November, then crawled back into his cave and has yet to re-appear?

Apparently the OP goal of getting a part time job to pay for Internet access failed.

Sometimes one fails to notice that. It's not ideal, but it happens.

Construction is still going on in the tricites even with the economy.. see if you can get on with a contractor and learn a skill.. people who have construction skills are less dependent on companies to hire them. any homeowner who cant figure out why the breaker trips everytime the blender and toaster are plugged in at the same time are happy to pay somebody to fix it.. same goes for plumbing, framing, roofing, painting.. you get the picture.. plus we have pretty decent weather and working outside is great... and that skill you learned can be taken anywhere and applied in any state.. dont be afraid of good old fashion hard work that requires you to work with your hands. it will pay off!
