Dharun Ravi the former roommate of Tyler Clementi (who jumped to his death from the George Washington Bridge days after the alleged spying in September 2010) has been convicted on invasion of privacy & bias intimidation. Not only can he be sentenced to jail time but he could also face deportation to India (having arrived here legally as a child with his parents). Any thoughts on what should happen to him if you were in the position to decide?

He has already been found guilty on invasion of privacy & bias intimidation. What should be his punishment in your opinion?

Well he could be sentenced for up to 10 years in prison and with a felony record, he can be deported back to India. (He refused to take plea deal which would have allowed no jail time and no deportation but he did not.)

In that case, I'd tack on 30 days for being a dumbass.

If i knew he could be deported, I'd have deported him before trial. Who knows how much this trial + 10 years of detention costs the US Taxpayer.

I think invasion of privacy should apply to gov't institutions only.

Suspended sentence is fine by me.

Ten thousand dollar fine and supervised probation for three years. Or deport him. Either way I'm good.
