Hmmm... I wonder is anyone taking odds, and is it legal to bet on verdicts? most people I know think he will be found guilty, but if it could swing the other way....
In some places, anything is open to betting. Remember the betting going on in the UK over who shot JR? They'll bet on elections, court verdicts, and even what color shoes will the next woman wear who walks into the bar.

In what order are the closing arguments presented? Prosecution first or second? How is it determined? That may make a difference in the outcome; perhaps the last statements before the jury goes to deliberation are the ones that have the most impact? Just speculation here.
Does anyone have a more in-depth local source for info other than pennlive.com, which is just summaries?
I don't know with absolute certainty, but I believe an accused gets the last word and I believe that's the way it should be. Give him a fair trial ... before we hang him!
According to what I just read the Judge tossed 2 because they weren't supported by the evidence presented. The other tossed charge was a duplicate of another one.
So basically, for 2 of the charges the Judge declared Sandusky not guilty.
I re-read the judge's instructions to the jury - do you think he was too cautious and/or gave appropriate instructions suggesting that perhaps poor judgment was more the issue than anything else?
"..."We make few decisions in life that are free from all doubt," he told them. "You must be convinced to the same degree that you would act in a matter of your own life."
He explained that just the "mere suspicion of guilt" is not enough to arrive at a guilty verdict.
"You may believe he exercised poor judgment, but poor judgment in itself does not warrant criminality," he said. He also said that it is "not necessarily a crime to shower with a boy, lather with soap, engage in back rubbing."
Geez.....is the judge a card carrying member of NMBLA? He basically raised the bar so high, no video...no conviction. Is this what our court of justice is now? Sandusky walks....unless the jury blew off the judge.
If Sandusky is acquitted, a Texas Ranger will be there to arrest him & serve him with extradition papers - for his rape of a boy in his San Antonio hotel room when Pedo State was playing in the Alamo Bowl.
The Texas jury will NOT be stacked with PSU grads & fans., nor will the judge be simpathetic.
