All of this an example of how annexation/city-county consolidation can mask or dilute certain statistics in comparison to cities that don't/can't annex or consolidate with its county. So, it can be an apples versus oranges comparison. This is why people need to look deeper in regards to such comparisons.

I forgot about the toy box killer.....that all happened in Elephant Butte,New Mexico outside Truth or Consequences.

Well, at this time (homicides):

This year => 151
2015 => 146
2014 => 134
2013 => 141
2012 => 205

... See, you have to go up to 4 years ago to see a higher homicide count than this year...
