The guys on "True Crime Garage" did a two-part episode on this and I thought they did a good job of breaking down the phone call.

I think it's odd that he very clearly says No, I need the cops. Yet the rest of the call is slurred and jumbled.

Is it possible he made his call incomprehensible purposely? I'm wondering if he disappeared on purpose and wanted to throw his family and LEO a red herring so they wouldn't find him?

I'm done with part 1 of the podcast, off to listen to part 2 now. Thanks for that linke Lodestar.
