I agree with mr.king 100%. The justice system in ca failed & now his young daughter is dead. Today a 2 hr memorial for chelsea will be at poway high school on the school field. Seating is for 5k but more are expected. Poway is 2 hrs sw of here. I would go if i could afford it & my car was dependable. Its going to be a emotional time for everyone in attendance. http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/chelsea-ki...ry?id=10019280
This country should stop worrying about putting people away for drug crap and start concentrating on the real criminals- sex offenders & murderers. They should do what they did in the prohibition days when people were arrested for having alchohol and selling it. they made it legal! Then all the mafia stuff went koput! We should teach kids from FIRST grade on, the dangers of drugs and then stop making them illegal and all the cartels will fall apart! That includes Afghanistan which gives this country most of it's cocaine to pay for Al Qaida. That would be gone too!!!!! Same for Mexico, by by cartels........
There is no excuse for rapists and pedophiles to be given a second chance to commit their crimes. They should be kept locked up after the first offense and the court system is far too lenient.
Rapest & murderers deserve death OR put them all ona island far away & let them defend for themselves. A man rapes for the control & not the pleasure. I think women (rare cases) rape for the opposite. I do though wonder what these women look like.
I guess there must be something missing in me. I have never felt the urge to travel someplace for the sole purpose of publicly mourning for someone I never knew. I've mourned for those I did which have included my parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, in-laws, etc. I've mourned for my brothers and sisters in the military and in law enforcement whom I knew and somehow, all of that seems to be enough.
I will never understand the "need" some have to be part of a mourning spectacle for someone they never heard of until their tragic end. It seems to have more to do with the mourner than it does the victim.
Curmudgeon, Although it is sad that the young women lost their lives and the system failed to put the sad excuse for men away, I agree with you. Maybe some can find solice in taking part in a memorial service for someone that they never knew but I can't see the reason for it. I say we learn from the event and work toward making changes in our system of laws so that we hopefully will never have to go through what these families are going through.
