We just got word that my husband's company is relocating us to Tucson!!! I am really excited about this move!!!! I want someone to tell me this is a great move for us!!! We have a 12 year old daughter that we want to keep in catholic school. Doing my research I have narrowed it down to a couple of places. North and Northwest, I was also told Vail is good. If someone can help me with the catholic school issue that would be great. I have started another thread about the catholic schools but no replys. Thanks a head of time.

I don't know anything personally about schools as I don't have kids. From what I'm seeing looking in the yellow pages, there don't seem to be any Catholic schools for a 12 year old in the N/NW area. There are a couple Christian schools that don't specify denomination.

It looks like the closest is SS Peter and Paul Catholic School, K-12, which is more in central Tucson. It's across the street from the UofA Medical Center. Hopefully someone will have first hand info about the school.

Vail is a nice area, from what I hear, with some new homes being built starting in the mid $100Ks. I've driven through it and it seems rather rural. A lot of military live in Vail since it's close to the Air Force Base. The closest Catholic schools are in south Tucson, which isn't the greatest area.

I live in NW Tucson and would not chose anywhere else. The only drawback is the hassle of driving into town.

Have you located the information you were looking for? I just found this site and noticed you've only had one reply. As far as I know there are no Catholic schools in Vail. Quite a few in the Tucson area Moderator cut: advertising

mcarman---Thanks for the information. I think we are going to look in the northwest area of Tucson. Maybe a realtor can help with the catholic school question

Hi, I think that Immaculate Heart Academy is a private Catholic school in N/NW Tucson. I have heard excellent things about the school and am considering it for my kids when they are school age. Hope this helps!

mcmommy---- just wanted you to know that there is a waiting list for that school. I called and I have my daughter on the list. They told me that some woman when they find out they are pregnant put there child on the waiting list. So maybe you should call if you plan to use that school for you kids. I never heard of such a thing. Must be a good school!!

My son lives in Tucson and loves it. When I was there visiting everyone I talked to loved living there. Anything has to be better than NJ!!!
