I just boat a sport/ski boat a few weeks ago and found out I am moving to Tucson in the spring. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if there are decent lakes around where I will be able to utilize my boat. I mostly use it to pull my kids on tubes, and waterskies, we also like to just anchor and swim.
The big question is will I be able to utilize my boat. Btw it is a 19.5 foot tahoe q5i.

Patagonia Lake by Nogales is great for boating, not a huge lake, but good enough. I understand Roosevelt Lake is a boaters' favorite as well, this one is a few hours NE from Tucson and its pretty big.

Nothing real close. You will have to drive at least an hour, depending on which lake you choose.

sell the boat and find a new hobby, you're going to spend more time trying to find a place to use it than you will using it.

Roosevelt lake is the closest one that you can do any real type of boating on. I'm not sure but Patagonia may have length and HP limits?

Roosevelt is a a few hours away, north-eastish of Phx.

in addition to Roosevelt, there are three more lakes below it on the Salt River, Saguaro being the easiest to get to from Tucson...all four are at least two+ hours from Tucson....

Patagonia is small and has a rep as being a little dirty....as Chorizo says, check with them about limits....

Lake Pleasant, just NW of Phx, is very big and popular with the locals and easy to get to....it'd be about three hours from Tucson

If you like going in circles then Patagonia is the lake to go ... only 250 acres and half of it is designated no wake plus no skiing weekends and holidays. As odinloki1 said find another hobby or be prepared for 2+ hour drives minimum.
