I read a research paper recently that said rural Oklahoma is shrinking (population.) I guess it's not the only state with this phenomenon.

The rankings are by county and Tulsa county is actually a bit better than Oklahoma county. Both would perform much better if income was adjusted to reflect cost of living, which it should be.

Tulsa:
Overall Rank: 1062 out of 3135
Per Capita Income: $47,485
Unemployment: 5.5%
% on Disability: 1.4%
Life Expectancy: 76.3%
Obesity: 36%

Oklahoma City:
Overall Rank: 1324 out of 3135
Per Capita Income: $45,082
Unemployment: 5.1%
% on Disability: 1.7%
Life Expectancy: 75.7%
Obesity: 37%

You have to look at the color coded map (1) color means a area is doing good ( another color ) means
that the area is doing rather poorly.

Ok, thanks. Since Oklahoma County is blue, then it is doing all right. I was born in that county.

Of course, everyone was concerned with money. I would pick Kentucky over New York. People have funny priority's in life.

It's an old story that has been slowly going on since the Great Depression. Not as much labor needed to farm since then.

Be Sure To Use Your Mouse Pointer Arrow To Highlight Counties Of Interest , by simply pointing at the
area where that county is. That particular county Demography will show up as you place the Arrow/Pointer over that area of the State.
