They are also skipping the murder of Arnold Rothstein and the St. Valentine's Day Massacre.

It seems that one of the plots in season 5 will the attempt by Lucky Luciano to organize the criminal underworld. In reality, one of the first meetings in which the leaders of the underworld gathered to organize was in Atlantic City.

I am excited for season 5, but sorry it will be the last season.

I'm so disappointed this will be the end of Boardwalk Empire. Boo! They say ratings had been slipping....maybe too many favorite characters were killed off too early. I'm binge watching season 4 again to get caught up to date before 5 starts.

I am DEF looking fwd to it, but last season was crap IMHO. After they killed off Jimmy, its never been the same. I think they tried to bring in that Irish Kid (Owen?) to compensate but no sale!

Yep he formed "The Commission"
If season 5 follows history, this will be the most violent bloodiest season of all. Al Capone's war with the north side of Chicago was very violent and showed how Crazy and Stupid he was!

They say unlike BW Empire, Al's brother Frank was even more violent! I hope Margaret doesn't get with AR. He's a rigid, controlling, hot mess. He's not really a step up from Nucky. Poor Chalky. Don't know how he's gonna come out of this.

I agree that they killed off Jimmy too soon. I was living for that character and nobody touches that brooding vulnerability.

Default Some bad news!

I just read that the character Arnold Rothstein played so well by actor Michael Stuhlbarg will not appear in season 5. It seems he is supposed to have died during the years that have passed between season 4 and season 5.

I am very disappointed, if this is true. I really enjoyed the character and thought he made a nice opponent for Nucky and some of the others.

Well, maybe he will appear in some flashback scenes.

Well after the long wait and looking forward to the new (and last) season, I just finished watching S5E1. Boring and slow. I sure hope it gets better soon!
