They are discussing this guy wrote this girl an email after a date wanting the girl to pay for her half of the bill because there was no chemistry btwn them . Now watch a bunch of guys get the idea that if they ask a girl out and then it does not click , they will be taking them to court to get the other half of their dinner bill . Im astounded at the nerve of some ppl .
If a guy wants a money-back guarantee, then he should put that in writing and have the potential date sign it. But nobody would date him. If he doesn't want to pay in any case, fine...let the potential date know she would be going dutch and she can decide if she really wants to go.
I didn't watch but I agree with Lee. Dating is slightly risky from a financial perspective. Why did he ask her out in the first place? Because if she asked him out (and perhaps that was mentioned on the show that I didn't watch), she'd be the one to pay. Is the guy going to pay me back for getting new dress for the date? Or compensate me for the time it took me to get ready? Because it's much more likely that it took me longer than it took him.
It's not a huge investment so get over it! There is no guarantee. And yeah, if word got out about him, he would be pretty date-free. Then he won't have to worry about wasting his money. Come to think of it, someone who thinks that way would probably make a pretty crappy SO.
I saw part of that when I accidentally left my television on and the View came on. Calling it a "pre-sup" haha, oh, they are so clever and funny, especially that Elsabeth Hasslebeck...And Barbra looks on in wide-eyed confusion (but that's another story).
Maybe the dude ought to watch for coupons and take his dates to all-you-can-eat buffets, or places with a dollar menu, and just let them go crazy!
