What fascinates me are the legions of slow witted people who support her, the Kardashians or any real or imagined "celebrity" by buying their products.
All you are doing is paying a premium for basic products to line the pockets of people who would send their bodyguards to maul you if you got within 10 feet of them.
Paula Dean has a line of sunglasses. How do you go from making artery clogging biscuits and gravy to selling sunglasses? Good grief.
Those sunglass sales must not be going well I know somebody that got a pair for a buck last week.
Agree with the above on lining others pockets but .....

I have sunglasses I could sell. I could also be a dim-witted talk show host, but I don't have the money for the plastic surgery to make me TV attractive, and I'm not a 30+ something. We spend too much time and money making these no-talent, product pushing, people bazillionaire stars.....

Skinny Girl was already Bethenny's brand before she came on the "Housewives" franchise. She had a few other irons in the fire. She was always about selling, years ago she sold pashminas in LA and made a living from it. Instead of buying one, she had the smarts to scrape together some money and put in an order for 50. She went on Housewives just because she knew it would give her the exposure she needed for her brand, at the time BethennyBakes which quickly changed to Skinny Girl. The first season, you can even see her playing with the logo and taking criticism for being all about the brand. The others have tried to follow since she made a killing, but to mixed results.
As I've said, I'm not into talk show, so I have no idea how that will play out, but Bethenny will always know how to make a buck.
Exactly. All these "experts" think they know everything there is to know about Bethenny. She had her business(es) going long before she was on any TV show at all. She was a hustler through and through.
Being on the shows (Martha Stewart Apprentice and RH of NYC) may have put her business over the top and mainstream but she was working on them and being successful at it before she was on either show!
I don't know how well her talk show is doing in the ratings. There are just too many daytime talk shows out there now, all trying to play off the mega success of the Rosie O'Donnell Show and the Wendy Williams show. None can really compare to either. However, Bethenny's show is more like a group of girlfriends getting together and BS-ing and tossing ideas and adivce off one another. I guess we'll see. If they don't keep her show, they'll probably put Kris Kardashian's talk show on next season.
Fox's O&Os (owned & operated) affiliates of the show which covered 70% of the nation have decided not to carry the show next year, with a forthcoming new talk show hosted by Meredith Vieria snagging most of those time slots come September; the average 1.1 million viewers per episode for her show compared unfavorably to the 1.5 million viewers for another new talk show (Queen Latifah), which ranks #1 among all new talk shows this year.

Bethenny was on at 2:00 p.m., in between Days of Our Lives and Dr. Phil on our local NBC affilliate. I am positive they'd buy Meredith Vieria, because of her tie-in to NBC, and put her in that slot.
Dr. Phil, Live With Kelly & Michael and the Ellen DeGeneres show are routinely the top three talk shows on TV, while Bethenny is 14th.
