Just found out the Jeffersons is bring removed from Friday Nights on Cable which can only mean low numbers while Good Times remains on the schedule. Why can't the Jeffersons seem to grab a large audience the same way Good times does?
Could just be demographics. I haven't watched either since they were on primetime, but from what I remember, Good Times was more about the kids, and would probably draw a younger audience. The Jeffersons was a spinoff from All in the Family, and both shows were about middle-aged couples with grown children.

Yeah that's probably it since there were no kids on the Jeffersons until the 80's when Jessica was born.
But Sanford and Son always beats out the Jeffersons too and that show had no kids on it. Strange
Fred Sanford and George Jefferson should have had a show together!
I just saw the Jeffersons listed on a cable channel for the first time last night. That doesn't mean it hasn't been there a while, but it's the first I noticed it. Between Good Times and the Jeffersons, I'd pick the Jeffersons.

The Jeffersons will be airing on friday nights at 9pm on TV One until April 26th
I never really liked watching Good Times (that were in reruns) when I was a child.
Having watched a few episodes of Good Times recently, I finally realized that what I did not like about the show was that any characters that were wealthy (or financially more well-off than the main cast), that were educated, had a profession which required an education, were White/non-Black or that had a position of authority of any sort were ALWAYS portrayed as either stupid, as a villian or the butt of jokes.

So my preference would be The Jeffersons.
Plus the Jeffersons was always fun to watch and rarely had any serious episodes

One difference is that the Evans and Sanfords were poor, and that the Jeffersons were rich. Another is that the Evans and Sanfords had some pretty funny surrounding characters (Wilona) in the show, while Jeffersons just had those odd neighbors.
Also, JJ and Lamont were funnier that the Jeffersons.

You lost me with Lamont since he was a "straight man" on Sanford and son. Maybe u meant to say Grady, or Rollo, or Esther
I'd rather watch the Jefferson's, so I don't know.
